THE MEANINGS OF SHRI RAGHOOTTHAMA

THEERTHA STOTHRA

(1) Jayatirtha or Tikacharya's writings are well-known for deep meaning and hidden expressions of excellence. It is difficult for people to unravel the meaning of meanings. Raghoottama was born as though for the sole purpose of studying the unfathomable writings of Jayatirtha and to lucidly explain them to the people. I salute such a great saint.

(2) I salute Raghoottamateertha who elaborated the Madhva Siddhanata, by his inimitable "Bhavabodha" works. He has made many diciples blossom into great academicians. I am indebted to such a Swami who is a Moon among the stars of scholars.

(3) & (4) I am grateful to the Swami who has taken upon himself the grand task of bringing succour to the miserable. He stands with a water-gount and a holy stick. Vedavyasatirtha and other disciples salute him revemtly.

(5) I salute the Swami who is an idol of forgiveness and punishment and who has engrossed himself in the meditaion of God.

(6) I am at the feet of Raghoottama who has made the Jayatirtha writings easy and understandable.

(7) People, by reading your commentaries, have become the ardent devotees of Shri Madhva and Jayatirtha. I salute you for your Himalayan task.

(8) Jyatirtha’s writings contain many gems of thought and argument. You have, as if preserved them in Your “Treasury” of your critical comments.

(9) You trained scholars like vedeshatirtha, Ramacharya and Venkatarya and many more. They have themselves become intelligent commentors. Your work deserves constant attention. I salute you for your achievement.

(10) You can be compared to Shukacharya for your patience, to Vedavyasa in compiling works,to a sea for courage and to Shiva in conquering baser love feelings. I must place my head at your feet.

(11) I salute Raghoottamateertha who live as a sage on the sanctified banki of the river Pinakini.

(12) You have written five valuable books that are supreme in excellences.

(13) and (14) I salute who is an embodiment of renunciation. You have involved yourself into concentrating on God.

(14) and (16) You have done Shri Madhva’s work of removing people’s ignorance. I salute you – you have conquered the false philosophers and misinterpreters of the real tenets of the Vedanta.

(17) and (18) You have worshipped your Guru like Laxmana who always adomed Shri Ramachandra. You have been worshipped by your disciples. I, too salute you humbly.

(19) and (20) and (21) and to the end

The devotee who utters this prayer will receive the Swmi’s choicest blessings. Your Vrindavana has to the East a tree of Amla fruits, to the South the river created by Trivikrama, to the West a Aswatha tree to the Narth a Tamarind tree and a serene atmosphere all over. How could a Swami who lives there tum a deaf ear to our prayers?

We salute you, Bhavabodhakara, to reliveus from the ills of the material world.
